How do i handle an obnoxious woodpecker?

every morning, a woodpecker ends up right beside my bedroom window making loads of noise. It wakes me up early and though I try to scare it off, it comes back shortly after and makes it's loud pecking again. I can't take it anymore! I try to scare it everytime I hear it by my window, but it just keeps coming back. Does anyone have any suggestions?
